Because Whistling While I Work Is Exhausting

I listen to my headphones all day everyday at work. I am a music junkie and love finding new bands to get excited about. Currently, I am tapped out and sick of my music collection. Today I downloaded Duffy and the new Madonna single (that I cannot get out of my head) and I am looking to you all for help. Tell me, what are you listening to?

Check out Tristan Prettyman. I just saw her live @ House of Blues in Dallas & she rocked it. She's from San Diego & very surfer-girl cute. Her sound reminds me of a female Jack Johnson - they're on the same label. Also check out the Pink Martini: http://pinkmartini.com/about/pm_about.html
Their sound is very unique & cool. Also just bought the Juno sndtrk & love it! I love sndtrks b/c you get such a variety - The Last Kiss sndtrk is amazing too. I also love The Recliners from Austin.
Good luck!!
thanks 4 all the fun posts, you make my workday go by so much quicker ;)

Court is right; the Juno soundtrack is great! Also, try out Pepper; my beach pals turned me on to them & while a few songs are a bit out there, their "Sublime-ish sound" is def a toe tapping. [BTW, they are playing here on the 19th!]
If you want to go completely out the box & dig on some super FUNKY jazz, check out Fela Kuti. Sooo original!
Happy Listening

I love Duffy's song Mercy. I got it when it was the free song of the week on iTunes recently. Lately the soundtrack to Across the Universe has been in heavy rotation on my ipod.

have you checked out pandora.com? i'm not sure if i'm late to the party on this one. it's a super cool site that creates a radio station of just music you like. for example: i put in "the kinks" and it plays some kinks and then it plays other artists it thinks i'll like. if you don't like the song, you skip it and it re-adjusts with your taste. might help ya find someone new to listen to.

I've been listening to Nicole Atkins all morning & she's awesome. Also, I personally cannot wait for Scarlett Johansson's album of Tom Wait's covers to come out (Tues, May 20th). I think her voice is purrfect for his music.
This is Courtney from dallas, btw. Just found your blog & I heart it. :)
