1. Lauren is Yoda. I mean, the girl really has some zinger advice, does she not? "I don't know if it follows them so much as they chase it." Beautiful. Eloquent. My next tattoo it is.

2. Doug is a total dolt. He tells Lauren she looks pretty nine different ways in one sentence, tells her to skip work so he can take her to Cabo and then is forced to be Whitney for a second and ask her how things are with Lo and Audrina. While he pretends to listen and care he gives his best Blue Steel. Go to Doug's website (oh yes, there is a website) and one needs to look no further for Doug's motives here. To be famous. He even has a management company that can take request for appearances. Pretty ambitious for a sidekick's (Frankie) sidkekick.

3. Chiara!!! This episode is owned by the second tier sidekick. It appears that Chiara got bangs – and they soften her. Even when she says she will beat Lo's ass. Softer. I also adored her awkward brown hairs versus the blonde hairs declaration because let's be honest, the word brunette is way overused.

4. Hi, we're important. Not really, that is really just Satan calling to tell them that their payment went through and he now officially owns their souls in return for making them famous. Turns out Satan is not much of a manager based on Heidi's recent foray into music.

5. Spencer is such a little bitch. Get over who your sister's friends are already! Why do you hate LC so much? Didn't Heidi pick you? Shouldn't you give it up already? EVERYONE HATES YOU!!!

6. This picture of Heidi scares me. Is she planning some monster "Carrie" moment for Stephanie's birthday to remind her who butters her bread or can she simply no longer register emotions on her face?

7. Kelly Cutrone scares the hell out of me and if I were ever in her presence I would fake laugh at whatever thing she said just like Whitney is doing here. That is such an I'm uncomfortable smile. Cute headband though. Oh and little Jessica who got the boot from People's Revolution. She ain't taking it lying down.

8. Heidi and Spencer roll up on Stephanie's bday party and Lo and Lauren do a bad job of playing cool. Lo's lopsided Princess Leia hair do was abysmal. As was her make up. Sometimes she looks like this.

9. Spencer has never looked happier. He just all but ruined his sister's party and he is thrilled. Homeboy is so self-centered it is scary. And where is his facial hair???

10a. Spencer has the audacity to compare him and Lauren to Israel and Iran. Yes, Spencer you so have things in perspective here. You guys are totally the symbolic representation of the tension in the Middle East. Thank you for teaching us all something. And the facial hair is back!!!!

10b. Stephanie is all "Iran who?" I mean, giver her a break. She's in fashion school.

11. Is there no screening process for fashion school? Stephanie should be expelled for her mop alone. Jesus, lady, it is called a bad hair day. Buy a scrunchie to go with the sad 80's ensemble and call it a day.
And that people, is what I took away from The Hills. No birthday party in next week's episode forecast so already it is going to be a better episode. And the return of Heidi's sister!!!!!!!

I couldn't have said it better myself. I actually fell asleep - then had to watch the DVR'd version - and I almost fell asleep during that!
Excellent recap (as always!) And what's with the all of the commercials, seriously?! Last night I think I counted about 10 minutes of actual show and 20 minutes of commercials...
oh the perspective you bring to this show. your comments really made me laugh.
Great recap! Lo's bitchiness when she said to Audrina, "Well, I'm glad we talked" after they simply told each other they looked pretty made her even uglier in my eyes.
Funny you should mention Hatchet Face. I used to teach with a girl who looks just like her. Sadly enough, she is even uglier on the inside than she is on the outside. Yeah, I don't have any residual anger or anything.
It's pretty sad that I have laid my eyes on this show and you have already confirmed that I don't need too.
I CAN'T STAND HEIDI AND SPENCER. LIKE REALLY CAN'T STAND THEM.
I love TMZ but will have to turn it off when I see them ( or Shauna Sand - she's just SAD ).
P.s. Thanks for the compliment on Tat's haircut. She started a freakin killer blog :

She would be honored if you checked it out.
P.S. Can't wait for "The Rachel Zoe Project" that preview gave me so many great ideas for the store and I ow it all to you!
xoxo YOU ROCK!
this is so sad to admit. but. jessica from people's revolution had a small cameo at the very end of the hit sensation "blue crush" when surfer girl wins the match or whatever, and billabong wants to sponsor her. i need someone who cares to confirm this with me, cue iheartyou.blogspot.com
project ecoart summed up my exact feelings, you watch the show for me! Except your recaps make me want to watch it, in that rubbernecker sort of way, I'm sick like that. You and SGM are my homegirls.
holy frick. you are correct!!!

loves it.
Awesome! I was out of town last night and missed it, but after reading your recap, I am all caught up.
Hate Spencer! Lo is getting on my nerves pretty hard core too. That hair-do was heinous, I think she tilted a little to the left.
Spot on recap! I'm ashamed to admit that even though Doug is a total famewhore, he is pretty cute so that made the episode a bit more bearable.
I love your rundown ... so fantastic that I don't even feel I need to watch the show ... nearly!
Dude, I f'ing LOVE you. I really, really do! HYSTERICAL! And so spot on. The Iran/Israel thing was insanity. Perfection as usual!!!!!
I just got done looking at Doug's web site and I think I threw up a little in my mouth. The first adjective in his "about me": strikingly handsome. bleh!
Who agrees with me that Steph looked horrid when Spencer came to fight with her (pic. 10b). She looked like the old lady in There's Something About Mary! Please, if you do use that much foundation, make sure you don't leave a white line where your hair starts! My God...
Love The Hills and their fabulous fakyness! And always looking forward to your review!
ps.
I'm sorry for any bad writing, I'm Dutch :) But love your blog, you're so human (isn't that a smart remark of mine...)
Just finished watching this episode and couldnt agree with u more!!! Brilliant recap and could not believe that idiot/duse( south african word)spencer compared the war between israel and iran to his pathetic, petty rap. I MEAN get over it does he really have nothing better to do with his life. He is a 20 something man acting like a bitchy highschool girl. iTS SOOO SAD. UNREAL!!!!
