Even Cecily von blah blah who penned the Gossip Girl books can't stand the character of Vanessa on the show. I mean, I thought it was me. Her pointless plotlines, her useless contributions of nothingness and let's not forget that she spends way to much time with Rufus, her best friend's dad!!! Apparently, Vanessa was lost in translation from book to script. It's too bad. She sounds kinda rockin' in the books and I would have loved to see holier than thou Dan with a headbanger chick BFF with a shaved head.

I agree completely! i loved Vanessa in the books! and when I first saw her on the show i was so disappointed! They directors/casting people/whoever decided to put a worthless pretty person in place of the real Vanessa all the true readers of gossip girl love. Ugh, glad i could finally get that all off my chest. :)

not to mention she is the worst actor. her lines sound completely memorized. more chuck! more chuck!
She is SOO annoying! I completely agree. And I never bought the Vanessa-Nate combo, they so wouldn't be into each other!

totally agree. and what's up with her being so close with the family that she has art openings with the dad? I'm so not following that plot line, I just like all the juicy scenes & rad clothes...
i so agree. she is the character they changed the most. and now she's just a holier-than-thou slut. she was so hardcore in the books and made you understand dan a little differently.
