The Best Dressed:
Olivia Wilde of House was the best dressed of the evening. Her lavender Reem Acra gown was stunning and looked amazing against the backdrop of the red carpet. I would wear that dress in a heartbeat.
My second favorite of the evening was Evan Rachel Wood in Elie Saab. I thought this dress was stunning and interesting from every angle. She looked like a million dollars in it as she was there to support her movie, The Wrestler.
The Honorable Mentions:
Eva Longoria Parker looked fantastic in a red Reem Acra gown that fit like a glove. The scalloped sweetheart neckline saved this dress from being just another boring red dress. I only place her in the honorable mention category because I cannot stand her.
Angelina Jolie demurely sparkled in Atelier Versace. Nominated for The Changeling, her gown was very "her" and very elegant.
Holy Hell What Happened:
Jenna Fisher is one of the cutest girls on TV and she always seems to lob a big fashion dud at the award shows. Her floral dress by Zuhair Murad was just a no go for me and reminded me of a reject from Project Runway. Plus, her Topsy Tail hair do didn't bring anything to her overall look. I was bummed.
Biggest walking trainwreck of the evening hands down goes to Renee Zellweger in *gasp* Carolina Herrera. How on Earth could CH put her in that atrocity? At first I thought she was a drunk Sharon Stone at Halloween party. It was just terrible, exacerbated by her inability to move her face and her hair.
Bad Hair Day:
As previously mentioned, Renee's hair was atrocious. Honestly, I know she paid some professional stylist upwards of a few thousand bucks to come to her house and do that to her, which is just cruel if you ask me.
And Drew Barrymore, what the hell? Her hair looked like it belonged on a drunk 1950's Barbie doll. Her dress was stunning and yet her hair looked like this. Did she ride to the award show in a motorcycle sidecar? Was she briefly electrocuted upon arrival to the red carpet? There has to be reason for this.

Jenna Fischer's dress looks like a bedspread. But even worse was J Lo's dress of desperation. Ridiculous doesn't even begin to describe it.

Hahahaha!! I completely agree with the bad hair calls, poor Drew and Renee. I'm sad that Jenna Fischer looked so lame because she seems so cute.
I have to admit I loved Even Rachel Wood's dress and I'm usually not a black dresss fan.
Loved Drew's dress, hated the hair. Also loved Laura Linney's dress -- thought it was perfect for her frame and coloring.
Not all that impressed with anyone else. Did drool a little over Colin Farrell, though.
I found a lot of the dresses a bit boring this year. A bit plain and simple.
But I thought Kate Winslet's face looked gorgeous -- she looked healthy and beautiful. I also thought Freida Pinto looked fresh and am still thinking about her amazing earrings!
OH! I also forgot...I LOVED Maggie Gyllenhaal's gold earrings and her dress looked gorgeous on the camera I thought, but not so great in photos. But the colors suited her so well and I loved that it was a print in the sea of solids!
I loved Cameron Diaz and Elisabeth Moss!
J Lo always has some kind of wicked retarded thing going on to attract any attention possible. Why would you match your dress(gold) to the award name-Golden Globe? It's like wearing brown/green the month of Girl Scout cookie sales! She looked more than a little bored with hubby, Mrs. J Lo, er, Marc Anthony.
Love the post. I have to say the jewelry is always a highlight of the evening. I loved the necklace that Eva Mendes wore.
Rene tops my worst dresses list for sure. I loved Eva Mendes, Elizabeth Banks, Cameron Diaz, and even Kyra Sedwick. Too bad Drew had to ruined her fab dress with that hair!
I loved Laura Linney's make-up and I really like Laura Dern's dress. Tina Fey looked adorable and Elizabeth Banks rocked her hair accessory. Poor Jenna, she would pretty in a potato sack but that dress was just so unfortunate.
I love Drew but her hair was the worst of the night.
I thought Kate Winslet looked stunning as usual.

Yay Paige - Pippa and I knew we could count on you! The awards weren't broadcast here which was rather strange as they normally are. I read a newspaper article to see who the winners were andwas psyched that "slumdog millionaire" won the big ones, I loved it. But as I said to Pip, "I'm counting on Paige to give me the fashion low down on the evening" - you never fail to deliver - and i totally agree with all. Reem Acra gown's were obviously the way to go this year x

I was unfortunately "overserved" on Saturday night and had to go to bed early on Sunday and missed the event entirely... but I loved your recap and that first dress on Olivia Wilde is my fave too.

I didn't even watch, to be honest, so I'm happy you recapped for me. Though I did see Olivia's and Eva's dresses and they were my favorites. Olivia's makes my heart melt. I adore Reem...I don't always love her beaded bridal gowns, but her RTW is my fave. And Eva just looked stunning. The shape of that dress reminds me of my wedding dress, actually (which, coincidentally, was a Reem!)
