I even was given a bottle of some aromatherapy potion you spray on your pillow and sheets to calmly lull you to sleep. I used for the first time last night. My husband asked why the bed smelled like disinfectant. Again, shot down and wide awake at 2:30 AM.
I'm inching my way (pun intended) to my ninth month of this pregnancy shindig and in the last three weeks I have: packed, moved, unpacked, assembled several pieces of IKEA furniture and had a garage sale. Did I mention Houston is going through it's hottest Summer in history? Needless to say, it's been tough. Worth it - but tough. We officially only have one, lonesome cardboard box to go through and a few pictures to hang and then - maybe I'll get to follow those trusty doctors orders of putting my feet up and resting. At least until my sleepless nights are caused by something much, much cuter than carpal tunnel. :)
Anywho - posts might be light the next month or so....but so much wonderfulness is to come. Stay tuned. xoxo

Welcome to the wonderful world of pregnancy, 3rd trimester edition. I went through the same thing-sleepless nights. Ask your doctor if you can take Tylenol PM. Mine allowed it and it helped!
Oh I remember that misery. I also had a stuffed up nose the last trimester, so I. Could. Not. Sleep. At. All. And then there were all those annoying parents telling me to sleep now while I can! Ugh.
Hang in there :)
When I can't sleep I practice a little mind/body relaxation. I start at my tippy toes and imagine them becoming very relaxed. Then I move up my feet, then ankles, then shins ect. The point is to do it slowly.
It works every time.
not being able to sleep sucks. Hope it gets better for you!
During my last month, I used to get up at about 2 and watch movies on cable in a giant overstuffed chair. Sometimes I would fall asleep. SOMETIMES. The ninth month sucks, but the tenth month (the month after the baby arrives) will be the best one of your life.
my sister in law got one of these pillows when she was pregnant and LOVED it!
I'm right there with you! I have that exact pillow, and while it helped in the beginning, lately it's doing nothing for me. I don't sleep, can't get comfy, my wrists are bound each night with carpel tunnel wrist guards . . . I'm just awake all the time. I even made my husband switch sides of the bed with me this weekend, of course I had him move both nightstands too, I thought it would help. So far the verdict is a negative. Let me know if you find the secret! :)
i bought that hideous noodle thing too when i was pregnant, and it worked for about five minutes. these next weeks will drag by until the labor and delivery which will go by in fast-forward. in the meantime, exercise your right to whine, complain, and demand all you want -- it's your right as a pregnant woman in her third trimester during the hottest summer in houston.

Sorry P- I know how you feel. I, like Jennifer woke up around three evening morning and took my big self to the couch to watch movies and or infomercials during the 3rd trimester. There is some weird s$*t on at 3 AM! Congratulations on the move. Hope to see some pics of your new home!
Oh I hope you can get some rest soon... And would it be totally inappropriate for a non-pregnant person to have that pillow? It looks amazing... :)
Try stretching before you go to bed. I've found that really helps relax me down. Hope that helps!
I'm so sorry, munchkin. I feel like I'm always looking at your updates for a sneak peek of what's in store for me in 6 weeks. And, guess what, though I don't have carpal tunnel, I do have an unexplainable broken foot. Couldn't someone have warned us about this stuff?! Anyway, please relax and put your feet up. We'll be right here waiting when you're ready to hop back on board again. Take care of yourself and enjoy the ability to do so because, as you know, someone else is going to need you really soon!! Love and kisses:) bee
I've never been pregnant so I don't have a awful pregnancy story to one-up your woes. I bet that makes you feel better.
This is mother nature getting you ready for an infant! Good luck!
I am right there with you! I wish I would have purchased that pillow but I have been making do without. I asked my Dr. about Tylenol PM and it's perfectly safe- so talk to your dr. That might help!
I couldn't sleep either and when I was past my due date and losing my mind, my doc gave me ambien. I had the best sleep of my pregnancy in my 41st (yikes!) week...I just wish I had known I could have it sooner. Hang in there!!!
What about melatonin? Is that allowed during pregnancy? I know my kid takes it to sleep, but who knows what it does during pregnancy!
