Ok, so if you haven't heard of Susannah from
Petunia Faced Girl then you must be living under a rock. She is a blog legend. My friends who don't even read
my blog read hers. That's the kind of rock star power she has in blogland. She is funny, blunt and honest to a fault and can spin words and stories into works of art. She has a mini-me daughter and childhood sweetheart husband who all engage in some humorous antics that to me, make her family reality show worthy. Read below, go to her blog and see what I mean.
Where do you live? Marin County, California. Some may think I'm a loser for living where I grew up, but god it's beautiful here.
What is your favorite thing to cook? I don't cook, or at least I don't like to. It makes me feel too needy. Too salty? Not enough salt? Too dry? Too this, too that? I make a mean bowl of cereal, the milk to flake ratio just perfect, thankyouverymuch.
What is your favorite beauty product? I'd have to go with chapstick with a hint of color, then papier poudres, then mascara if given an extra two minutes. I know you only asked for ONE, but still. I also like me some cover up, but not foundation, never foundation. In high school there was this girl who constantly wore white turtlenecks and an unfortunate beige foundation. Of course the beige foundation was always caked onto the tips of her turtleneck, and it scarred me, the fact that her signature look seemed to be based on base. Later I heard that she won a wet t-shirt contest at some spring break affair, and I cannot help but picture that wet white t-shirt caked with Maybelline beige #3.
What is one thing you can't help but splurge on? Juice. The more exotic the better. Nantucket, aloe, lemongingerlalala, if I don't recognize the bottle I don't mind paying $4 for 8oz. of mmm.
What is your favorite word? Thistle.
What movie can you recite by heart? Sadly, none. And I can never remember jokes either. I also suck at small talk. Aren't I a hoot?
What is your favorite thing to do on the weekend? My ideal weekend day would be this: Wake up at 10am. Go to the beach with my family. Fall asleep in the sun. Read some magazines. A great book. Kick around a soccer ball. Grab some dinner on the way home. Cozy up to a great movie.
My actual weekend day is this: Wake up at 6am with my daughter. Watch Dora. Watch another Dora. Make it a third. Go to the beach with my family. Play Dora (I always have to be Boots). Stare longingly at magazines and unopened book. Kick around a soccer ball. Grab some dinner on the way home. Take a bath with my daughter, awestruck by the volume of sand stuck in her cracks. Cozy up to a bad movie that is not Dora but might as well be. Honestly, either way I'm good.
What is one trend that totally victimized you? Chokers, palazzo pants, dark lipstick, clogs, leotards. Good god: LEOTARDS! The very word. And unitard isn't much better. It was 1993. That is all.
If you could trade lives with anyone for a day who would you chose? My daughter.
What is your favorite comfort food? Grilled cheese sandwiches and chocolate milk.
What famous person do you think you most resemble? Ashley Judd back when she had babyfat (or any of the big-cheeked actresses, of which there are few).
What was the best piece of advice you were ever given? Who gave it to you? People don't give me advice, or maybe I just don't listen.
What three possessions do you value most? My computer for the internet (hello!), my books, my camera.
What three non-material things do you value most? My family, My friends, Humor
When was the last time you told someone you loved them? Who was it? About an hour ago. I told my daughter I loved her. 15 minutes before that I said it to my husband. I'd rather err on the side of cloying rather than cold. I love you, too. Goodbye.
