C-o-l-a, Cola

My most recent, random musical download. I love oldies and this one is such a fun song. Everyone should have it on their iPod.

And They Lived Happily Ever After

The wedding in Denver was gorgeous. Natalie looked like she just stepped out of a Grace Kelly movie and Jeff was ever the doting groom. The adorable couple worked with a choreographer to create a festive first dance to Ray Lamontagne's You Are The Best Thing. It was precious and we all swooned.

After taking some shoeless pictures on the freezing cold golf course, Jeff lovingly warmed his new bride's feet by the fire.

We all had a blast although the trip was short-lived. And SGM and I had every intention of meeting up on Saturday afternoon, but my bridal party duties took center stage. Next time for sure!

Happy (Early) Weekend!

I am headed to Denver to celebrate my sweet, sweet friend Natalie's wedding! I can't wait! She is going to be the most gorgeous bride and her wedding will be gorgeous down to the last detail - Natty is quite the planner and perfectionist at this stuff! I can't wait to toast Natalie and Jeff (with something less alcoholic than a Corona) and watch them start their happy life together as The Piquettes!

Still Clueless

Perez Hilton is reporting today that a possible Clueless sequel might be in the works - music to my ears. I LOVED this movie! I can't even tell you how many Cher Horowitz outfits I tried to copy and how many times I saw this movie in the theatre - thanks Mom for being a sport! Anywho, how awesome would this be? Would Cher be a mom? Would Dionne and Murray be married? What about Elton? Would he still be worried about the location of his Cranberries CD? Plus, Paul Rudd is about a zillion times more awesome now than he was back then and I think he and Alicia Silverstone would be quite cute together again. And lets face it, Brittany Murphy needs work. Hope this works out!!!!

Mmmmm, Donuts

Oh, Lottie + Doof, you might be my very new best friend. Now if only you would pop out of my screen and whip up a tin of these. And don't forget an ice cold glass of chocolate milk too - if you don't mind. Homer Simpson never had it this good.

Happy Earth Day

Whether you recycle, ride a bike, drive a Prius or simply just turn off the water when you brush your teeth - thanks for doing your part to help keep Mother Earth beautiful for the next generation. xoxo

Jenny's Jenny

Jenny Lewis' longtime stylist has her own line....wanna know more?

Jenny Reyes spent the last few years on tour with Rilo Kiley and Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins - reworking vintage finds into true originals for stage shows and photo shoots. She even interned for fashion darlings, the Mulleavy sisters at Rodarte. She has taken her aesthetic and style skills and created her own line, Geronimo, named for her own middle name. Here are two of my favorite looks from the line. Wonder if that yellow one has maternity sizing? :)

Zodiac Dress Love

My eyes are on Piscean overload. You see, having the zodiac sign of the fish makes me partial to anything blue and green and slightly aquatic looking. And this dress is Pisces perfection. Pretty sure one of you out there needs this for the summer. And if you think it is cute from the front......

The Classics

Over the weekend my mom and I took advantage of a free night to try and watch a classic movie. We went to rent Doctor Zhivago but could only find the 2002 BBC version with Kiera Knightley - it wasn't horrible but my mom kept repeating over and over "This is not true to the original!" So now, I am still set on seeing the real deal. What other classics should we add to our list in the future?

Let me know in the comments!

Mac & Me

Last night I discovered food blog, Lottie & Doof, and poured over it for almost an hour. The recipes there that tickled this pregnant gal's fancy? That would be the most exquisite looking mac & cheese I have ever seen and a rice casserole that has melted cheese all over it. Basically, I am confessing my pregnancy addiction to anything with cheese - hot, gooey, melted queso! Someone hand me a fork.

A Little Bit Of Bass

Happy Monday night, everyone!

Hi Carrie!

While Doug was at Design Ranch over the weekend a guy came up to him and told him that his wife, Carrie, loves my blog. Doug called me to tell me and it made my whole weekend! He forgot the guy's name (he is 40 now) but he remembered his wife was Carrie from Austin. So, hi Carrie-from-Austin and thanks for the love! xoxo

Awesomest Baby Shower Activity Ever

Forget baby bingo and that horrible game where you smell the diapers. Check out this adorable baby shower activity - no melted candy bars required. How sweet would it be to put a slew of these in your baby's book from all your closest friends? I am in love with them. And they are pretty economical - just pick a color and print them to your color printer. Voila!

The Big 4-0

Today is Doug's 40th birthday. 40. 4-0. A number that could not possibly define him in the least. Well, maybe his knees. Nope, Doug is not mentally a day over 23 - and I'm being generous. He is so young in heart and mind that it almost seems too cruel to pull out the Over The Hill plates and party hats. He is by no means anywhere near The Hill much less already trekked over it. And since we are still (yes, still) awaiting our new old dream house thankyouverymuchhurricaneike and waiting to greet a beautiful baby boy in the late Summer I couldn't think of a single thing to get Doug for his big day - we are blessed to already have so much. He asked for a new pair of khakis. I laughed. Instead, I am whisking him away on a long weekend trip in a few weeks. What better way to turn 40 than on a cross Texas road trip with a 5 month pregnant wife?

And where is Doug today? At Design Ranch - a craft mecca retreat for designers. He thought that after 40 years of being awesome it wouldn't hurt to take a refresher course.

Happy Birthday babe. You are the beez neez.

Love,
Me & Baby

Hearting These For Summer

I love how the classic Orla Kiely stem print is embossed into the leather!

Glam For Grey Gardens

I don't know about you, but I thought Drew Barrymore looked stunning at the premiere of Grey Gardens in New York. If you want an awesome in depth look at the film coming to HBO soon, check out my friend Paloma over at La Dolce Vita. After reading her post, I want to see this now more than ever!!!

There's An App For That

Your daily comic relief just got a whole lot easier. F*** My Life has it's own app. It's the #1 free app on Apple right now. Get it.

Nursery Inspiration #1

How cute is the juxtaposition of the grown up KWID pillows with the childish, whimsical flag bunting? And everyone's a sucker for a pouf. Also, I'm pretty sure that rug is this steal from Ikea.

Dress You Up

Someone needs to run to Anthropologie and buy this dress. Can you really turn down a dress called the Confetti Whirl Dress? I think not. I wish I was able to wear it myself, but since I can't that means one of you must. Who's it going to be?

Beach and adorable companions not included.

Sincerely, Lindsay

I love a person who can laugh at themselves. Even if that person is Lindsay Lohan.

Yeah, Boyeeeee

Sorry for the Flava Flav shout out. Couldn't help myself.

Now that I know I am having a boy, I am noticing that little boys are everywhere! I must have swooned over 5 baby boys at church yesterday. Especially the one in a sweater vest. Precious.

Today, I found myself wanting to reach into my computer screen and tickle the bottom of Levi McConaughey's little toes. How cute is he?

Wash Out

I was forwarded a slideshow of pictures from my friend Kristy's birthday party last Thursday night. Everyone looks like a rock star except me. I am as washed out as Keira Knightley in every one. I am going to hit up Sephora this week to see what I can do about that. Anyone have a must-have make up product that they love that I shouldn't pass up on my trip? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! I did some serious damage at Sephora and the Bobbi Brown counter last night. I think I have a wash-out free face now thanks to all of you!!! xoxo

Spawntourage

I learned yesterday that another one (and possibly two) of my friends is (are) pregnant! That will make 6 babies in the group this year alone!! I read the other day that with the recession going on people are staying in more and gettin' it on. We might have another baby boom on our hands. My friends and I are doing our part.

I'm out for the Easter Weekend! Happy Egg Hunting Everyone!

Only For You, Jenny

Guess who is going to brave a Jenny Lewis standing room only concert in the middle of the Houston summer at 7 months pregnant? Yes, me. We'll see how long I last but it was very sweet of my husband to buy me the tickets. I hope she sings this one!!!

Grunge Baby

We have a sweet co-worker named Chad. Chad used to be a pretty important tech guy for Pearl Jam. So important he refers to Eddie Vedder as "Ed." When he heard yesterday we were having a boy he showed up to work today bearing this gift. It is an original prototype of the Pearl Jam baby collection "Ed" designed when he started his family. Being that Doug is a HUGE Pearl Jam fan, this is by far his favorite baby score to date - and I'm pretty sure un-toppable. Doug couldn't contain himself so he ran up to my cube to show me. Now all baby needs is some baggy ripped up jeans, a flannel shirt and some baby Dr. Martens to complete the look.

Here Comes The Son

This September we will welcome a perfect little baby boy. We are beyond excited and can't hardly think about anything else. So far from our sonogram we know he is healthy, has long legs, the shape of my face and his daddy's nose.

And what keeps running through my head is the line from Sex and the City when Miranda announces she is having a boy and Carrie tells her, "You know you are growing a teeny, tiny penis in there? That's so sci-fi."

Last night my mom and I couldn't help ourselves. We hit the stores to find the perfect duds to outfit our little dude...and we hit the jackpot. Now he just needs to get here so we can put on the cutest little (most masculine) fashion show ever. :)

Thanks for all the well wishes and support everyone! It is amazing to us how much love there is in the world for this little boy already. It is a joy and a pleasure to share all this with you. xoxo

I'll Be Blunt

My boyfriend's girlfriend looks pretty gorgeous in Vanity Fair.

Tonight's The Night

It's baaaaaack!!!

btw- It took me a whole 5 minutes to figure out who the guy on the right was. It appears Justin Bobby has undergone a makeover.

Adventure Weekend

This movie might be a fun one to take in this weekend. The weather in Houston is gorgeous today and I'm hoping my legs might actually make their Spring debut over the weekend in an attempt to de-Casper them. Other than that and a haircut, not too much going on with me.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Be Per-Fekt

I don't know about where you live, but here in Houston we are in countdown mode to those hot, humid, sticky days of Summer. The days where you don't even want to wear make up because it slides off your face before you've even stepped off your front porch. I purchased a tiny tube of Perfekt at Sephora some months back. It was an impulse purchase after I read about it in a magazine. I honestly think it will be what gets me through the thick of Summer. Lightweight, covers up shinyness, imperfections and makes dullsville skin come alive. If you strip down to the basics when the heat gets going, this might be worth checking out for you too!

Sing Song

This Corrine Bailey Rae song has me moving in my seat today. It would be a fun song to put in the middle of a cocktail party playlist - when everyone is a little tipsy. :)

Layers Upon Layers

I have rescheduled my haircut appointment 3 times in the last 3 months. This weekend - I'm finally keeping my appointment and I'm taking in these photos of Mary Kate Olsen as inspiration for the layers I desire. I can't wait! A haircut and blowout are on the list of my favorite things!

Pong

Who doesn't love a good game of beer pong? Lots of memories with this game.

The Sincerest Form of Flattery is...

In my previous post about Miss Melling Burke, this photo stood out to me. I just love it.

Maybe it is because I recently bought this dress to wear to an upcoming wedding and my nephew's Christening next month and this belt might compliment it in a similar way.

Of course, sporting a growing bump, the belt might not be a go this time around.

My Favorite Voguette

I get Vogue. I love my Vogue. It is such an escape. I read magazines back to front, always have, and it just so happens that my favorite section of the magazine is the index in the back edited by Senior Market Editor, Meredith Melling Burke - whom I love. She is precious. I mean, she could be a b*tch on wheels, I have no idea - but to me she just looks like someone who gives great hugs and has an impossibly cute disposition. Also, I pretty much idolize her style. It's a mixture of funky and classic that always looks stunning and fresh. See:

Total cuteness. Always the right shoe and the right bag. Always the best accessories. Who's style do you idolize?
