We'll be ringing in 2010 at home tonight - curled up on the couch in our cozies. I've spent many a fun New Year's Eve with the girls - New York City party babes one year, Breckenridge ski bunnies another. Too many fun trips and stories to recount. But this year, I'm looking forward to keeping warm, laying low and snuggling. After all, with my handsome boy to kiss at midnight - what's the need to leave the house?
Wishing you all a safe and festive New Year's Eve - and a wonderful and magical 2010. XOXO

Candy Striper
Had I known Kate Spade had a delicious candy striped iPhone case for sale, it would have been tops on my Christmas list.
I Wish It Was Christmas Today
Remember this SNL holiday gem from back in the day?
Well, this little ditty has new life in the form of former Strokes frontman, Julian Casablancas. He appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to sing it live - but adding it to you iPod in time for the big day is a must. A rockin' Christmas for only 99¢.
Wrap Star
I have whole heartedly expressed my deftness in the department of gift wrap. Seriously, it's bad. But that doesn't mean that I don't appreciate a fabulously wrapped gift that is so gorg - you don't even want to open it. Hence this little number:
Um, could this box wrapped up in a button down complete with sleeve bow and sparkly pin be any more festive and awesome? The answer is no. See how to's for this and several other amazing wrapping ideas over at Brunch at Saks.

Why The Face?
I pretty much take advantage of my DVR to spare me from commercials when watching my favorite shows (anyone else loving Modern Family and Cougar Town?) but this commercial is one I never fast forward. I love all the creativity that went in to finding the "faces." Such a brilliant idea.

It's A Man's World
Could this chick look any cooler? I feel like Annie Hall peeled off the glasses, lost the tie and threw on a pair of Alvy's jeans and became a modern fashionista.
This outfit is full of basics every girl has - jeans, white shirt, little grey t, black bag. Update it with a shrunken blazer and these oxfords.

Elf
Say hello to Santa's Little Helper:
My little elf hanging out with Sophie the Giraffe – a baby must have item! The other night I put P in his swing so I could get dinner going in the kitchen. When I went to peek on him to make sure all was well I caught him watching Elf on TV. And he was laughing at all the funny parts. It was hysterical. It seems he has good taste in holiday movies. Up next - National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
Pencils of Promise Blog Day
Something special is happening on the blogs today. Paloma of La Dolce Vita, whom I've come to know and is a total sweetheart, has recruited countless bloggers to spread the word on a wonderful and purposeful charity - Pencils of Promise. PoP's mission is to bring accessibility to education by building primary schools in some of the most impoverished nations abroad.
Pop's founder is currently visiting small, impoverished villages in Laos to oversee the building of a school in the village of Luang Prabang. A recent visit to the town of Champet is what prompted today's efforts. The town is home to one high school that serves several surrounding villages. Students must leave their families and live in dorms to attend - dorms no where near the conditions we think of when we think of student housing. The girls live in small, unstable bamboo huts and some children miss out on an education all together because parents feel the conditions are too unsafe. Today's blog post is asking for donations for Pencils of Promise to build a safe dorm for the girls and a library to further their education.
As a mostly feminine community, we bloggers have the power to empower these young girls with a meaningful contribution to their future. Any donation, great or small, would have a substantial and profound impact on the lives of these girls. Visit this link to pledge and learn more about Pencils of Promise.

I Can't Wrap
If you have ever received a gift from me, it was no doubt in a gift bag overflowing with a rainbow of tissue paper. I know this largely because I can't wrap a gift to save my own life. I literally have anxiety when faced with the task of wrapping a present. My BFF, Laura, on the other hand, would win the gold medal of Olympic gift wrapping with one hand tied behind her back (what up, Lo!). Seriously, her gift wrap abilities are like performance art. I think maybe this year I might go this route when packaging up presents:
Simple. Pretty. And the absence of paper is more eco friendly (hey - whatever makes me feel better about being a total dolt about gift wrapping). Now if I could only learn how to tie a bad ass bow......
Laura? Any tips? :)

My Macbook Pro would look pretty slick tucked in this *ADORBS* Orla Kiely carrying case. How cute is it? Anyone looking for the perfect last minute gift for the blog loving girl on the go - here you go. Just call me Santa's Little Helper.

Get On The Bus Gus
Most girls I know gag at the thought of one day toting rug rats around in a car that has the word "van" or "wagon" in the title. Volkswagen might change their minds, as this ain't your momma's minivan. The VW Microbus marries the two concepts of retro cool with modern and futuristic. Hitting the open road in this van seems cool - not cringe worthy.
