The Spin Pin
The undone bun is a hairstyle I have been trying to master since the 10th grade. But my hair is baby fine and freakishly thick so it's always been slightly out of reach. I'm thinking the Spin Pin from Goody was made with me in mind.
ps- this tutorial makes it look so easy!
UPDATE: They work! Ok, I had to buy two packs for a total of four pins but they work! My super-slick, baby fine hair has been in a tight and secure knot all day! I'm a fan!

It would be awesome if they worked that well. I'd like to give them a try....loved all the styles!
Ah, beware, those things are never quite as easy to use as thy seem! But I will be anxiously await an update on this!
my sister and i both tried it. she has super thick, coarse hair, and i have fine somewhat thick hair. with any amount of layers, it didn't work as well as we had hoped. sorry to burst your bubble.
erin - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! This upsets me greatly!
Just thought I might share the way I've always done a messy bun. It uses a lot of bobby pins, but if you have long, sturdy ones you won't need as many, and my hair is very long, so I need more.
Add mouse/hairspray/etc to hair, brush till smooth, repeat. Blow dry until poofy.
Then, gather the whole of your hair into your hands, bunching and scrunching the hair together, making sure you don't get it too tight or twisting in one direction too much.
It takes a few tries at first, but once you master it, it looks like you curled your hair and put it into a chic messy bun effortlessly. My girlfriends at college drool over my hair when I do this, commenting how they wish they could do a messy bun. I hope it wasn't too hard to understand me through text-only. :) Good luck!
sorry paige, as erin's sister i have to confirm her comments. quite disappointed indeed.
I have one. I have thick hair and I love it. The only prob is that my hair is layered, so there are quite a few sprigs. I'm gonna do a proper review on my blog soon. I like it.
When I had long hair I literally tied it in a knot and then used one bobby pin to secure it. Sometime it would look kind of funny so that spin pin probably would work better. Now if I could just get my hair to grow faster!
